Lots of power. The EGO LB5302 is considered very powerful (as TROY-BILT FLEX ) for a cordless leaf blower. In comparative testing it performs as well or better than some corded electric blowers, with enough air moving power -- 530 CFM of volume at speeds up to 110 MPH -- to lift and push piles of matted and damp leaves in testing by TheSweethome.com. The run times are also impressive compared to other cordless -- around 20 minutes on high speed. There's an even more powerful Turbo boost feature that will eat up the battery faster, but experts such as Clint DeBoer at ProToolReviews.com say that's a feature that, when used correctly, should only be used on rare occasions. On low speeds, the rechargeable 56-volt lithium-ion batteries can keep going for up to 75 minutes. The battery is compatible with all other EGO outdoor tools, a plus if you are already invested in that equipment.
Ease of use
Quiet and maneuverable. While no leaf blower is silent -- or even very quiet -- if you value peace and tranquility, the EGO LB5302 is among the top options. It's so quiet that ConsumerReports.org says that noise levels are low enough that hearing protection is not needed -- something that can be said of few other blowers. Most experts and many users describe the EGO blower as easy to handle and control. DeBoer compliments the lack of vibration, which makes it easier to use the blower for extended periods of time.
Great warranty, with a caveat. This EGO blower is covered by a long, five-year warranty, but the company will only honor that if you buy from an authorized retailer -- currently Home Depot along with some local retailers. Overall, durability looks excellent. Reports of faulty blowers or batteries are not unheard of, but the majority of complaints we spotted were about the short run time on high speed -- and some of those cases might be the result of unrealistic expectations as the high-speed run times reported are in line with manufacturer claims and independent test results.
